Topic: A Death in the Munster Family
This week we have lost a Grandpa that we all knew and loved, Al Lewis or Grandpa Munster. Lewis became a familiar face on US television for his role as the irascible Grandpa Munster in the 1960s sitcom, as a Dracula character. Beyond the screen, the former basketball player became a respected talent scout, ran a restaurant in New York's Greenwich Village, wrote two children's books and campaigned as the Green Party candidate for governor of New York. I never really realized that he accomplished all that. I just knew him as "Grandpa Munster." In 2003, bad health slowed him down and complications during surgery led to an emergency bypass and the amputation of his right leg below the knee. At 82, he had three sons and four grandchildren.

Yeah, I heard about that, and it makes me really sad. I used to watch that show all the time.
